Oracle VM 3 Storage: Presenting a Replicated Repository to Same Server Pool & Manager (Doc ID 1678559.1)

Last updated on JULY 17, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 3.2.8 to 3.3.3 [Release OVM32 to OVM33]
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

The goal of this note is to explain how to transition storage repositories from legacy storage to new storage for use by the same server pool being managed by the same Oracle VM Manager. This process assumes you have the ability to stop all affected Oracle VM guests during the transition since you will be changing the source of entire repositories.

The process begins with the current or legacy storage repositories being actively used by a server pool. The current (source) repositories should already be part of an active, asynchronous or synchronous replication relationship between the legacy and new storage arrays.
