The following procedure describes how to reconfigure an existing Oracle VM 3.x Oracle Linux 6 (OL6) guest Virtual Machine (VM) from Paravirtualised (PVM) to Hardware Virtualised with Paravirtualised Drivers (HVM+PV).
Conversion of an Oracle Linux (OL) guest from PVM to HVM+PV requires modification of the guest itself, as well as to the Oracle VM guest configuration.
All changes required to be made to the Oracle VM guest configuration file (vm.cfg) should solely be performed via Oracle VM Manager.
Users are strongly advised against manual modification of Oracle VM Server and guest configuration files.

This article is intended for Oracle VM and Oracle Linux System Administrators.
The article is applicable to:

Oracle VM 3.3.x
Oracle Linux 6 guest Virtual Machines (VMs)
