Oracle VM 3.4: Connecting to Oracle VM Manager CLI results in "Connection to <host> closed by remote host" (Doc ID 2298328.1)

Symptoms

This document is applicable only to Oracle VM CLI 3.4; please do not apply these steps to other Oracle VM releases.

 

Cannot connect to Oracle VM CLI 3.4.x using SSH; debugging the "ssh" connection ( ssh -v .... ) shows that algorithms used are "diffie-hellman-group1-sha1" and "ssh-dss".

debug1: kex: algorithm: diffie-hellman-group1-sha1
debug1: kex: host key algorithm: ssh-dss

Changes

Upgraded "openssh-client" package to a release >= 7.0 on the client or on the Oracle VM Manager host; SSH server CBC Mode Ciphers is enabled and/or SSH weak MAC Algorithms is enabled
