Fail to Add Parent Channel to Client with Command spacewalk-channel (Doc ID 2394275.1)

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

User can successfully add the parent channel to Linux client in Spacewalk GUI, but user can not add the parent channel to client by running 'spacewalk-channel' command from Linux client system. 

This issue can occur on Linux client system with release version 5, 6 and 7. The detailed error is shown as below:

# spacewalk-channel -a -c parent-test
Username: <username>
Password: <password>
Error communicating with server. The message was:
Error Message:
Parent of channel parent-test is not subscribed to server&nbsp;
Error Class Code: 32
Error Class Info: Channel error
Explanation:
An error has occurred while processing your request. If this problem
persists please file a SR at support.oracle.com.
If you choose to submit the bug report, please be sure to include
details of what you were trying to do when this error occurred and
details on how to reproduce this problem.
