Symptoms

When trying to add a virtual disk; remove a CDROM ; or manage an ISO using the  OVM GUI the following error is seen on OVM:

OVMAPI_4010E Attempt to send command: configure_vm to server: <server>. OVMAPI_4004E Sync command failed on server: <IP>. Command: configure_vm, Server error: org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException: <type 'exceptions.RuntimeError'>:disk:setup_error:Command: ['xm', 'block-configure', '0004fb00000600xxxxxxa4af1e5812c8', '', 'xvdb:cdrom', 'r'] failed (1): stderr: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '' stdout: Usage: xm block-configure [BackDomain] Change block device configuration [Mon Jan 07 16:06:58 EST 2019]

 

Please note this issue is only seen when the virtual machine has a CDROM attached and the VM is running.

Changes

 The environment had been updated to OVM 3.4.6.
