How to Check and Fail Paths with Multipathd
(Doc ID 2622560.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 09, 2020
Applies to:
Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 and laterLinux x86-64
Linux x86
Goal
This article describes how to check the status of paths, and fail a path and then re-enable it to test redundancy with the multipathd service on Oracle Linux. Although a more complete test would be to fail a path from a storage appliance, there may be situations where a systems administrator of a Linux server wants to test the multipath configuration on the Linux server itself, without making any changes on a storage appliance that could also be being used by other servers.
