Exadata: Dbnodeupdate Fails/Hangs due to Empty grub File when "noclobber" is Enabled (Doc ID 2625921.1)

Symptoms

Upgrading Exadata Software hangs/fails during dbnodeupdate. According to the source version and target version, slightly different errors are seen in the log files. In all cases an empty "grub" file is generated.

Upgrade From 18.1.x to 18.1.y

dbnodeupdate.sh fails with the following error.
