Last updated on JUNE 23, 2020

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.1 to Oracle Linux 7.7 [Release OL7U1 to OL7U7]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

On : Oracle Linux 7

Cloned Linux VM generates same IPv6 link local addresses as the original VM.

Cloning a VM of Oracle Linux 7 causes the IPV6 addresses to be the same as the original. Successive clones eventually end up with multiple IPV6 addresses, all of which are in a "tentative noprefixroute dadfailed" state.
