Oracle Linux: Kdump Generation Fails With Error "kdump: error: Dump target is not mounted" (Doc ID 2689068.1)

Symptoms

Kdump fails to generate dump.

During the startup of the crash service below messages are observed:

Starting Kdump Vmcore Save Service...
kdump: dump target is
kdump: error: Dump target is not mounted.
kdump: saving vmcore failed
FAILED Failed to start Kdump Vmcore Save Service.
See 'systemctl status kdump-capture.service' for details.
