Symptoms

 A server running Oracle Linux Manager (OLM) 2.10 was configured to use SSO and SAML for authentication for its local user accounts.

However after updating the configuration the local root user could no longer authenticate.

Changes

 The server was configured to use kerberos authentication via PAM.
