[PCA 2.x] Virtual Machines Lost Connectivity to External Network (Doc ID 2767015.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.4.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

Users found that they could no longer connect to their Virtual Machines.
The VM's were running, and could be connected to using the OVM Manager console facility.

However, they could not ping the gateway ip address of the external network.

Migrating a VM from one Compute Node to another would resolve the issue for some VM's.

There were no errors reported on the Compute Nodes, and no errors on the switches.

There were no issues with the VLAN's outside of the PCA.
This was a network issue within the PCA infrastructure.

The issue was narrowed down to a subset of the compute nodes - VM's on three of them could access the external network, VM's on the others (four of them) could not.

Changes

A new network bridge had been created
