Oracle Linux: Logging into Linux Host Authenticating with Windows AD Server Failed with "Server not found in Kerberos database" in SSSD Log File (Doc ID 2789635.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2021

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 6.0 to Oracle Linux 6.9 [Release OL6 to OL6U9]

This issue was reported when following "How to Set up a SSSD on BDA V4.9 and Higher ( Doc ID 2298831.1 )" to configure SSSD on a BDA host. However it may happen to any normal/standalone OL6 host as well. This issue is not specific to BDA hosts.

Basically after configuring Linux host to authenticate against Windows AD server, it might still get failed when logging into the host with AD username,

Configured an OL6 host to authenticate against Windows AD server.
