[PCA 2.4.4.1] Pre-check "ZFSSA Storage Network Interfaces Check" Fails
(Doc ID 2876150.1)
Last updated on MAY 16, 2024
Applies to:
Private Cloud Appliance - Version 2.4.4 and laterLinux x86-64
Symptoms
PCA could experience NFS outages after upgrading the ZFS firmware with below scenario:
- Customer has created a network of type storage_network using the PCA admin command 'create network <name> storage_network.'
- ovcasn02r1 was the active cluster head at the time of creation of the storage_network.
- The resulting vnic on the ZFS that is created by the command shows 'owner = ovcasn02r1.'
- Customer created NFS share(s) with PCA admin command 'create nfs-storage' that use this network. By default, the share(s) end up in OVCA_POOL -> VMINTERNAL, which already has 'owner = ovcasn01r1.'
- This discrepancy will be enforced by AK version >= 8.8.30 and must be remedied, or VMs that rely on these NFS share(s) might suddenly see NFS failures after the ZFS firmware is upgraded to >= 8.8.30.
This 2.4.4.1 pre-check will flag any storage network interfaces that have 'owner = ovcasn02r1' so the customer can manually correct the owner to 'ovcasn01r1' before proceeding with the upgrade.
