Last updated on OCTOBER 20, 2022

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

The libvirtd service status on KVM host shows online but also shows messages like "cannot open directory '/vm-pool': No such file or directory"
even after destroying the pool using virsh command.

This document describes how to get rid of the above messages when you run systemctl status libvirtd command.
Here /vm-pool is the storage pool created for a particular Virtual Machine(VM)
