Oracle Linux: Server on BDA Boots With non Default Kernel Even Though grub is Set to Boot with Default Kernel (Doc ID 2975481.1)

Symptoms

In this instance the system boots up with the debug kernel, 4.1.12-124.59.1.el7uek.x86_64.debug even though the grub is set to boot with regular kernel, 4.1.12-124.59.1.el7uek.x86_64
During the boot process at the grub menu if the default kernel is chosen then the system boots up with the default kernel.
