Oracle Linux: Timeout in some sosreport Plugins Caused by memory.kmem.slabinfo (Doc ID 2982740.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 22, 2023

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 8.0 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

When running sosreport, timeouts occur in some plugins. If waiting as it is, the data collection will be completed. However, some files are not collected correctly.

Standard output or sos_logs/ui.log included in sosreport shows that a timeout has occurred.

The following is a record of one case. The target plugins may differ depending on the case.

If sosreport is terminated in progress, a similar log as ui.log may be stored under /var/tmp/.
