Oracle Linux: getaddrinfo() Does Not Return Correct IPv6 Address and Family (Doc ID 3048422.1)

Symptoms

When both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are listed in the /etc/hosts file, services that need IPv6 may fail to connect because getaddrinfo() returns the IPv4 address instead of the IPv6 address.
