E-CI: Getting "Cannot find Component Interface XXX" when accessing a CI using the Java APIs (Doc ID 1131514.1)

Symptoms

Below are two scenarios in which this error can occur.

 

Scenario 1:

When executing the PeopleSoft "Template" test program, the error below (where XXX is the name of the CI) is seen on the getCompIntfc() line of code.

 

Error:

(91,91) : Cannot find Component Interface {XXX} (91,2)

 

Steps to replicate:

1. Generate the helper class and "Template" class source files, and compile them.

2. Open a command prompt window, and execute the test program. Or execute the test program using an IDE (Integrated Development Environment).

3. Observe the error above in the execution window.

 

Scenario 2:

The error above is seen when using the Component Interface (CI) Java APIs from a third party application such as SailPoint.

Steps to replicate:

1. Set up/deploy the third party application in the Virtual Appliance (VA).

2. Test connecting to the application server and retrieving a CI, and observe the error above in the third party application.
