Employee has a gender of Unknown on an employee's personal data cause a payroll calculation to fail with Error:

 Message ID 000143 a benefit rate could not be assigned and a deduction calculated.

yet a Confirmation Letter was produced with all appropriate costs for the Open Enrollment event that resulted in the employee's benefit enrollments?  Rates had to have been assigned for Benefits Administration to process without error.
