E-IB: Pinging node gives error "Cannot establish HTTP connection (158,2842)" (Doc ID 1270683.1)

Symptoms

 

Scenario 1:

---------------
Sample Environment:
-----------------
Tools 8.51.03
FSCM 9
Production environment
synchronous messaging with a 3rd party

Issue:
---------
The site upgraded to tools 8.51.03 from 8.49.09.  Integration with external vendor has stopped working.  The external node is not pingable.  When attempting to ping the node, the following error is received. This error did not occur prior to the tools upgrade.

Error:
-------
Cannot establish HTTP connection (158,2842).

 

Also, check PIA_stdout.log (or log file "NTservice-<domain_name>-PIA.log" if using Windows) for error similar to the following.



 Replication:
-------------
The ping node error can be replicated when pinging node from PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Integration Setup - Nodes.

Impact:
-------
The issue is affecting integration with the third party vendor when attempting to procure items.

 

Scenario 2:

Environment:

PeopleTools 8.53.26

FSCM 9.1 application

Weblogic webserver, Application server on same windows machine

Steps
-----------
1) Navigate to main Menu > eProcurement > Create Requisition
2) Click Continue
3) Click Web Tab
4) Click on Merchant Link
5) Below Error appears

Error on the application page:
