Coverage Code Control Used for a Divorce Event With the Spouse Set to Allow Only Less May Not Prepare Options Appropriately (Doc ID 1274134.1)

Last updated on JUNE 07, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 8.9 to 9.2 [Release 8.9 to 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

1)  When Coverage Code Controls are used on the Event Rule for a DIV (divorce) event with the Spouse set to allow only Less, why, if the employee has employee only coverage before the Event, do the options for employee plus dependents (no spouse) not open for employee selection?

2)  Employee is enrolled in Family plan with Spouse and Child.  Current Divorce (DIV) event rule setup has Coverage Code for Spouse marked as  "Less" NotAllowed. Once the divorce event is entered, as expected - Spouse  changes to ExSpouse and cannot be selected during eBenefits enrollment. If Child is selected and one proceeds further, system shows error "This enrollment event requires fewer dependent(s) with the relationship of Spouse".

If "Same" and "Less" NotAllowed is set for Coverage code control for Spouse on event rule, error is NOT seen.
