Goal

To make customers aware of known the issues encountered with nVision when upgrading to PeopleTools 8.51.

In PeopleTools 8.51 OpenXML SDK was introduced as an alternative to running in Excel Automation Mode. Since then we have encountered functionality restraints in particular with its support to run with Excel macros.

While we are working to find ways to get this working, we are encouraging/recommending customers below PeopleTools 8.51.09 to use "UseExcelAutomation" as later releases will have this set as a default.

UseExcelAutomation' allows nVision to use Excel Mode to generate reports at server side.  For additional information on using Excel Automation, refer to Document ID E-NV: PeopleTools 8.51 - Open XML And Excel Automation Modes (Doc ID 1317246.1).
