E-SQR: Running A SQR Report To CSV/Excel Shows Warning Message: "The file you are trying to open, is in a different format than specified by the file extension." (Doc ID 1455342.1)

After scheduling a SQR Report with CSV Format and then attempting to open the SQR report output, the following warning message occurs:

"The file you are trying to open, [file name], is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1. Login into PIA.

2. Navigate to PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > System Process Requests.

3. Create a new run control or select an existing one.

4. Run the "XRFWIN" SQR report to output type of "Web" and output format of "csv".

5. Navigate to PeopleTools > Process Scheduler > Process Monitor.

6. Go to Open Process Detail page.

7. Click on View Log/Trace hyperlink.

8. Open the newly generated csv file.

9. The File Download message occurs to open the Microsoft Excel Worksheet: "Do you want to open or save this file?".

10. The Excel Files opens with xls extenssion and shows the warning message occurs: "The file you are trying to open, [file name], is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?".
