Last updated on JUNE 01, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Time and Labor - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Default template built rule is not working correctly in release 9.1 after upgrade from 9.0 release.

ERROR
---------------
The number of steps in the compiled rule (3) does not match the count in template definition (2). (13507,77)

This indicates two things:
1. The template has been modified since this rule was last compiled and the rule needs to be recompiled.
2. The rule has been altered and can no longer be maintained as a template rule, but must be modified from the Rule component.

WHAT IS WORKING
---------------
Time Administration is generating payable time for the absence hours entered in the 9.1 release.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Regular hours are not being created by the default regular rule which results in no payable time being generated by Time Administration only payable time for absence entry is created.

ENVIRONMENT
---------------
Tools Version: 8.52.05
Application & Version: PeopleSoft HRMS Time and Labor Release 9.1
Production/Development/Test: Test

STEPS
---------------
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Upgrade from 9.0 release to 9.1 release
2. Report absence time and punch time, the punch time doesn't designate the TRC to use only enter the raw punches
3. Run Time Administration process to generate payable time
4. Time Admin generates payable time only for the absence nothing generated for the punch time entered without a Time Reporting Code designated.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-------------------------------
Cannot continue testing of the upgrade without payable time being generated from rules as expected.
