Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running RE_GENTRANS, we get the following error message:

Error committing work. The host environment could not complete the CommitWork() function. (2,712) RE_UTILITIES.KeyGenerator.OnExecute Name:RestoreEntity PCPC:4847 Statement:83
Called from:RE_UTILITIES.KeyGenerator.OnExecute Name:GenerateBlockKeys Statement:28
Called from:RE_GENTRANS.INSTRNSB.GBL.default.1900-01-01.Step07.OnExecute Statement:4

Process 13646948 ABENDED at Step RE_GENTRANS.INSTRNSB.Step07 (PeopleCode) -- RC = 8 (108,524)

This issue occurs when there is no entry for "RE_LS_TXN" in RE_ENTITY_DEFN table which stores the last generated key value for the key fields of RE records.
As a workaround, please find out the maximum value for LS_TXN_ID field in RE_LS_TXN table and insert the same in the RE_ENTITY_DEFN table as :

ENTITY_NM : RE_LS_TXN
LASTGEN_KEY :

If no rows are found in RE_LS_TXN table then value of LASTGEN_KEY should be 0.

After insertion, please run the Transaction Generator application engine (RE_GENTRANS).
