Benefits Administration Incorrectly Handles Changes in Deduction Frequency (Doc ID 1609821.1)

Last updated on JUNE 11, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The frequency of the deduction for Medical plans for biweekly payrolls is being changed from every pay period to the 1st and 2nd pay periods of the month only in the upcoming year. When the Benefits Administration batch process is run for event maintenance and events for both the current and upcoming years are processed, the per pay period deduction cost for events occurring in the current year with coverage and deductions beginning in this year is incorrectly calculated using 24 deductions rather than the correct 26 deductions.

STEPS
---------------------------
1. Enter Job changes on two employees, one in the current year and one in the next year (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data).
2. Run the Batch Administration batch process for these events (Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > Run Automated Event Processing).
