Secondary COBRA Event May Not Qualify When Multiple Prior COBRA Events Exist

Symptoms
If there was an old qualified COBRA event for which the available COBRA period has expired followed by another qualified COBRA event during which a secondary event occurs, the secondary event fails to qualify.
STEPS
---------------------------
1. For an employee who had a prior COBRA event for which the coverage period has expired and a COBRA event which is currently providing coverage, enter a Job record for their death (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data).
2. Process the event through Benefits Administration (Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > Run Automated Event Processing).
3. Process the COBRA ‘DEA’ event, a secondary event (Navigation: Benefits > Administer COBRA Benefits > Manage Automated Participation > Qualify Event/Proc Enrollment).
4. Check the status of the event (Navigation: Benefits > Administer COBRA Benefits > Manage Automated Participation > Update Event Status).
> Event is Not COBRA Qualified.
