If there was an old qualified COBRA event for which the available COBRA period has expired followed by another qualified COBRA event during which a secondary event occurs, the secondary event fails to qualify.
1. For an employee who had a prior COBRA event for which the coverage period has expired and a COBRA event which is currently providing coverage, enter a Job record for their death (Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data).
2. Process the event through Benefits Administration (Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > Run Automated Event Processing).
3. Process the COBRA ‘DEA’ event, a secondary event (Navigation: Benefits > Administer COBRA Benefits > Manage Automated Participation > Qualify Event/Proc Enrollment).
4. Check the status of the event (Navigation: Benefits > Administer COBRA Benefits > Manage Automated Participation > Update Event Status).
