E-AWE: HCM HTML Email Approvals Not Processed When EOAWEMC Application Engine Program Runs (Doc ID 2012577.1)

Symptoms

On :HCM 9.2 Approval Framework (AWE) Email Approvals.
MicroSoft Exchange Mail Server with Outlook client, or Office365,  using HTML formatted Approval Response


With Email Approvals configured, when the Approval Response is sent to the Email Repository in HTML format from Outlook client, the EOAWEMC Application Engine(AE) Program does not result in update of Approval Status from Pending on transaction submitted.

If the Approval Response is sent in plain text format the Approval is processed correctly when the EOAWEMC AE runs.
 


The EOAWEMC AE goes to Success and the Approval remains Pending, with HTML format and works with Plain Text.
 
The Approval should be Approved after the EOAWEMC AE Runs, regardless of the format of the Approval Response that comes from Outlook, or Office365.


The issue can be reproduced with the following steps in a MicroSoft Exchange Mail Server with Outlook client environment:

1. Configure for HTML Email Approvals.
2. Submit transaction.
3. Approve from Email with format HTML.
4. Run EOAWEMC.
5. Observe approval is still Pending.
6. Approve from Email with format plain text.
7. Run EOAWEMC.
8. Observe the transaction is Approved.
