Benefits Administration Events Do Not Prepare Options For Election Entry If There Is Only One Option Per Plan Type (Doc ID 2043609.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 29, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Benefits Administration - Version 9.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An event class was created to allow additional dependents with the configuration for the event rule set to Select Allowed Current Plan with Coverage Code Control set to allow additional Child Dependents but Spouse and Employee set to same.

For an employee with family coverage, the event did not prepare for the employee to make elections on Self Service. For an employee with current enrollments such as employee only or employee and Spouse, the Event prepares as expected.

If we change the event Rules for the Coverage Code Control to allow Current + Waive, the event prepares for the employee with family coverage, but with a waive option that is not allowed.

This seems to indicate that if only 1 option prepares, for this example, Current Plan with Coverage Code 4 for Plan Types 10, 11, and 14, the Event does not prepare. Also if we allow a different plan type to prepare with more than one option, the Plan Types 1x do prepare as expected.

This same issue occurs if there is only one plan available for employees to enroll within a plan type, the employee is not able to make an election in Self Service.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Add an event for an employee with family coverage with Coverage Code Control that will only prepare one option - Same Plan and Coverage Code
2. Process the event
3. Results are finalized/Closed prepared None
