Error (2,136) When Attempting to View Compensation History for Employees with Foreign Currencies

Symptoms
When attempting to view Compensation History for foreign currencies by either Employees and Managers, the following error occurs:
"Coversion Rate not found for FromCurrency=DKK, ToCurrency=GBP, RateType=OFFIC, EffDt=2015-09-11 (2,136)
The currency conversion rate required to convert an amount from one currency to another using the PeopleCode ConvertCurrency function was not found for the specified FromCurrency, ToCurrency, RateType and Effective Date.
See the person responsible for maintenance of Currency Conversion rates and have them add the appropriate value."
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigation: Main Menu > Employee Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > Compensation History
or
1. Navigation: Main Menu > Manager Self Service > Compensation and Stock > View Compensation History
2. Select Employee with foreign currency to view Compensation History
