Symptoms

When changing the Item type from Inventory to Non Inventory in the 'Define Item' page (navigation: Items, Define Items and Attributes, Define Item) and saving and there is an open quantity for the Item, the following warning is issued "Warning -- Be sure to define cost element for any associated products. (11350,144)". If you click on OK, the change is saved but the Default Cost Element is being cleared at the Business Unit Item level causing issue in Cost Management.
