Symptoms
When running a calculation of retroactive benefit deductions, the process fails with the following errors:

The maximum number of deductions (displayed below) that can be used for a
single employee has been exceeded.

Request is rejected. No data available to do Retro Deductions.
STEPS
-----------------------
1. Calculate retroactive deductions (Navigation: Payroll for North America > Retroactive Payroll > Retro Benefits/Deductions > Process and Review Requests > Calculate Retroactive Ben/Deds).
