Symptoms

The affected plans are Life, AD/D, Optional Life and LTD plans that require a calculation based on ABBR for a Rehire. For example, the Calculation Rule that covers Life, AD/D and optional life is configured per the screen shot below. Again, this is only an issue for Rehire, all other Events are working fine. The issue is ongoing and not just the first paycheck since the Rehire.

It appears to relate to the Consider Active Jobs flag which does not appear to consider the ABBR as of 1/1 as the employee was terminated.


STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Rehire an employee after the first of the year
2. Run payroll for the employee in the next pay period and no deductions associated to Life or Disability plans using the ABBR are calculated.
