Pension Calculation Fails with Error (16005,28045) -ALIAS YYYY-MM-DD IS NOT A RECOGNIZABLE TYPE (Doc ID 2377521.1)

Symptoms

When a Start Date Alias is entered on an existing Function Result that already uses an actual date and the Alias is then removed before saving, running a Pension calculation fails with the following error:

ALIAS 2012-06-29 IS NOT A RECOGNIZABLE TYPE.- Calc:xxxxxxx Empl:xxxxxxxx Plan:xxxx FR:NONE

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Open in Update History mode an existing Function Result with Start Date specified (Navigation: Set Up HCM > Product Related > Pension > Pension Plan Implementation > Function Result).
2. Enter a Database Alias Name in the Start Date Alias field.
3. Press tab or click on another field.
4. Return to the Start Date Alias field and blank it out.
5. Save the Function Result.
6. Request a pension calculation for this Benefit Plan (Navigation: Pension > Calculations > Request Calculation).
7. Click Run.
