E-508: Fluid Pages That Contain Toggle Checkboxes are not Accessibility Compliant
(Doc ID 2378132.1)
Last updated on MARCH 01, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.55 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The Fluid pages that contain checkboxes include switch controls that cause the following accessibility issues for visually impaired applicants. Issues reported are:
1. These elements’ (checkboxes) active roles are not reliably announced and may be perceived as being static content rather than active elements.
2. Their on/off, checked/unchecked state is also unreliably announced, so the user cannot be certain whether they have made the desired selection.
3. Their accessible names are also not reliably announced.
4. The ability to actually toggle/activate the switch control often cannot be performed directly with JAWS.
