(Doc ID 2517831.1)
Last updated on APRIL 15, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Payroll for North America - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Issue : When the Reset W-4 Exempt (tax103.sqr) process runs and an employee has not submitted a new W-4, the last valid W-4 form values are supposed to be brought forward to the new effective dated row in PS_FED_TAX_DATA.
This code is not selecting and updating the MARRIED_FILE_SINGL field.
Steps to replicate :
Navigation: Payroll for North America > Employee Pay Data > Tax Information > Update Employee Tax Data
Effdt: 06/28/2017 This employee has a value of “N” (None) for the SPECIAL_FWT_STATUS on 06/28/2017 with a FWT_MAR_STATUS of Single, a FWT_ADDL_AMT of $150, and the MARRIED_FILE_SINGL flag selected.
Effdt: 12/28/2017 – Employee enters a new row with a value of “G” (Maintain taxable gross) for the SPECIAL_FWT_STATUS with a FWT_MAR_STATUS of Married and a FWT_ADDL_AMT of $0.
Effdt: 01/02/2018 A new effective dated row is entered with the W4_PRCSS flag set to 3. “S” for Notification Sent.
Navigation: Payroll for North America > U.S. Annual Processing > Year-End/New Year
Preparation > Reset W-4 Exempt List
Run the tax103.sqr with the following run control parameters.
Actual behavior : The tax103.sqr will find the last valid W4 form and set the employees values back to what they were before claiming exempt status. The last valid W-4 form is the row with an effective date of 06/28/2017. A new row was inserted with an effective date of 02/24/2018 with a value of “N” (None) for the SPECIAL_FWT_STATUS, a FWT_MAR_STATUS of Single, a FWT_ADDL_AMT of $150, BUT the MARRIED_FILE_SINGL flag is NOT selected.
Expected behavior : The MARRIED_FILE_SINGL flag should be selected since it was selected in the 06/28/2017 row.
NOTE : All the data provided for the replication of the issue , is sample data from the Demo environment and not Customer specific.
