Symptoms
When attempting to run the PeopleSoft/PeopleTools DPK setup script on Redhat Linux, the following error occurs (note: this can also occur for a PUM image setup as well):

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set the TMP environment variable to a location that is not owned by the user running the DPK setup script.
2. Run the DPK setup script for mid-tier deployment.
3. Error occurs during Tuxedo home clone step.
