E-ES: ES6.1.2_xx: Unable to Run Incremental Indexing for the Applicant Search Definition if the Attachments are Very Large and the Data Set to be Indexed is Huge (Doc ID 2561576.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unable to successfully run the incremental indexing for very large search definitions, e.g. Applicant search definition i.e. HC_HRS_APPLICANT in the new ES 6.1.2_xx.

It does not finish if the number of records to be indexed exceeds 150 days.

The attachments are large and there is a huge data set to index.

In order to fix the issue a Full Build of the large search definition needs to be run. This workaround of a full rebuild is not practical because the business needs to run the incremental index a few times a day and a full build requires several hours to finish.

This issue did not occur in Elasticsearch 2.3.2_xx.

ERROR
---------------
In the PTSF_GENFEED.trc which gets generated after the indexing, we see the following error:
