Total Percent Used is <=100 With Pell2 Awarded (Doc ID 2642221.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On the Update Incoming Aggregates page for the PELL aggregate, some students are shown with an incorrect total percent used, at or below 100, even though they've been awarded Pell2. By definition, Pell2 can only be awarded when students are exceeding 100 percent. Since the Additional Eligibility Indicator (AEI) flag is based on the total percent, Pell origination will process any such records with a value of 'N' rather than 'Y', preventing the records from being accurately reported to COD. (See also <Note 2403020.1>.)

This symptom may not occur in every case, but in enough instances to make a manual fix cumbersome.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > Award Processing > Assign Awards to a Student > Student Aid Package to verify a student has BOTH a Pell1 and Pell2 item type in offer/accepted status with amount > 0.
  2. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > Aggregates > Update Incoming Aggregates > Aggregate Aid Data and verify the total percent used is a value <=100.
