Last updated on MARCH 09, 2020

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 to 8.58 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

When you deploy the VirtualBox image, the deployment includes the installation and initialization of Elasticsearch. To install Logstash and Kibana on the VirtualBox environment after the deployment is complete, use the instructions given here. Note that the installation of Logstash and Kibana is optional.

Scope

This applies to the VirtualBox version of PeopleSoft Update Images built on PT 8.58.02.

The Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana DPK (ELK DPK) is included with the VirtualBox version of the PeopleSoft Update Images. Elasticsearch is an open-source search engine used for the PeopleSoft Search Framework. Kibana is used to visualize data for Elasticsearch server monitoring and application index monitoring, and to create dashboards to visualize application search indexes. Logstash collects JMX (Java Management Extensions) metrics from JMX servers and provides them to Elasticsearch. The PeopleSoft Health Center displays the charts and data using Kibana.
