EPY: PSPPFUND Error Due to Distribution Distributing Larger Numbers than Deduction Amount Indicated on Paycheck (Doc ID 2651672.1)

Symptoms

When customer is running the PSPPFUND process, it is producing the following error:


Error Message : [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Arithmetic overflow error converting numeric to data type numeric.[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]The statement has been terminated. (SQLSTATE 01000) 3621 Stored Stmt : PSPPFDED_I_PDEDST SQL statement text not available. See the SQL trace for statement text when this cursor was last compiled.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create negative and positive entries on Paysheet that causes the total gross to be less than the distributed earnings 

2. Employee is enrolled in a non taxable benefit deduction with a high amount (ie. 2,100)

3. Run PSPPFUND and it produces the error.
