Symptoms
While loading a CSV file having any numeric fields with too many decimal places, Journal Import process (GL_JRNL_IMP) process fails at step GL_JRNL_IMP.PROCESS.Import with the following error:
Note: This was not an issue unless site upgraded to PT 8.57 or higher. The field values used to be truncated in earlier PT release.
Steps to replicate:
- Prepare a CSV file with any numeric fields with too many decimal places. e.g. RATE_MULT entered in a line as 0.052509012 and expect the system to truncate it to 0.05250901.
- Import journal data by navigating in PIA to General Ledger > Journals > Import Journals > External Flat Files. Create a Run control and add the file prepared in step 1.
- Check process monitor for status and check message log if process goes to Error or No success status.
