Update Contracts Page Returns Error ORA-00904 When Saved Without a Value In Field PROBATION_DT

Symptoms
When a new row is saved on Page CONTRACT3 CNT_PROBATION.PROBATN_REASON, without a value in Field PROBATION_DT, a popup message returns an error, and
the row is not saved.
User clicks OK, then sees
A previous error message has been displayed showing an error from which the
component processor can not recover. You must cancel the current page and reselect it."
If the user also supplies a PROBATION_DT before saving, the error does not occur, and the row is saved.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login as PSFT Admin.
2. Navigate to Workforce Administration > Job Information > Contract Administration > Update Contracts
Find an existing value = K% > open an existing contract for USERID
3. Click on Signature Date/Probation Info Tab > Probation Information pagelet. Click the + sign to add a new row.
4. Skip the Probation Date field, and go to the Reason field. Select a value from the drop down. Without entering a Date,click Save.
