GP:STP XML Final Pay - Gross and Tax are Overstated (Doc ID 2693739.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Global Payroll Australia - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When the XML file for Single Touch Payroll (STP) is created GPAU_XML_GEN using the Final Pay Indicator 'All Payees for this Fiscal Year (Excluding already reported)' the amounts reported in PAYEVNT for total Gross and PAYG tax are overstated as they are including amounts for the extra employees that get added during the final pay (e.g. Terminated/LOA).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.GP & AM > Authority Correspondence > STP Payroll Event File AUS
2.Run for a calendar that has STP Preparation data in the staging tables. For a calendar group series having some transactions meeting the pre-requisites (e.g. terminated earlier in tax year)

Pre-requisites.
Need to find Tax Year/Pay Group that have had some employees processed in earlier calendars of the tax year, but do not have STP Preparation (Staging) data for the current calendar.
For example if someone was terminated in an earlier calendar in the Tax Year, or where on Leave of Absence (assuming they don’t get identified in the payroll calculation).
These employees would not appear in the STP XML file if running normally – e.g. When using Not Applicable in the final event indicator field
