Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Fields 'Phone Type' , 'Email Type' and 'IM Protocol' are incorrectly marked as mandatory (with *) under Add/Modify a Person.
Mandatory fields are read out on screen reader and causes confusion. There is  no error or warning message if nothing entered.

If a field is marked as mandatory, it should error out if not populated. Or the Mandatory mark should be removed for those fields, so that it does not confuse the visually impaired user.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enable the People Soft application in Accessibility Mode
2. Navigate to Workforce Administration > Personal Information > Add a Person/Modify a Person and Go to Contact Information tab
3. Fields are incorrectly marked as mandatory (with *) under Add/Modify a Person.
