Override Position Data Enabled on Employees Reporting to Terminated Manager and Inactive Position Causes Direct Reports Tables Build Process to Use Old Data (Doc ID 2710545.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When looking for the approver for Reported Time Leave, using method 5, no supervisor is found because the Position Override flag and the Direct Reports Tables Build process does not look to see if the Terminated Manager's Position is active or inactive.
If the Position Override was disabled for the employee then the Direct Reports Tables Build process would look at the position status, and then select the next level Supervisor.

The Direct Reports Tables Build Process should look at the position status to determine the position status, and subsequently the supervisor, if an employee is assigned to a Position even if the "Override Position Data" option is enabled.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In Job Data, select to Override Position Data for an employee reporting to an Inactive Supervisor/Position
2. Run the Direct Reports Tables Build process
3. Search for Employee in Direct Reports table
4. Note employee is missing
