E-CQ/BIP: "First operand of . is NULL, so cannot access member QueryRecord (QueryRecord )" Error When Running Connected Query Reports (Doc ID 2715787.1)

Symptoms

Connected queries reports cannot be run via Query Report Scheduler (Reporting Tools > BI Publisher > Query Report Scheduler).

The following error message is received:

"First operand of . is NULL, so cannot access member QueryRecord (QueryRecord )"


In order to replicate the issue, follow the below steps:

  1. Log into PIA.
  2. Navigate to Reporting Tools > BI Publisher > Query Report Scheduler.
  3. Add a new run control id.
  4. Set data source type to Connected Query.
  5. Search for report name and select it.
  6. An error occurs.

Note:

The same error may occur from Reporting Tools > Connected Query > Connected Query Manager when trying to "Preview XML" or when scheduling it.
