Symptoms

Cannot boot NT process scheduler domain after PeopleTools patch upgrade (the NT process scheduler domain was created manually from PSADMIN in the new environment). Unix domain can be boot up without issue.

During the upgrade process only the PS_HOME was upgraded, all other components remaining from the old patch.

In this case, from PeopleTools 8.57.05, upgraded to PeopleTools 8.57.17.

The following error message is received when trying to boot the newly created domain:

LIBTUX_CAT:250: ERROR: tpsvrinit() failed
Tuxedo Version 12.2.2.0.0_VS2015, 64-bit
tmboot: CMDTUX_CAT:827: ERROR: Fatal error encountered; initiating user error handler

The issue can be replicated using the below steps:

  1. Go to PSADMIN.
  2. Go to Process Scheduler menu.
  3. Create a new NT process scheduler domain from scratch.
  4. Boot the NT domain.
