Symptoms

Issue: Apply Without a Job – Prior Submitted application exist - System does NOT allow completing a draft application; however, allows to submit a fresh application (contradictory behavior)

When the checkbox on the Site "Do Not Allow Multiple Applications' for the Same Job Opening is checked it works fine, when apply for a Job Opening.

The customer is concerned about the inconsistent behavior, when applying for the Same Job Opening more than once the application allows it; however when completing an Application without a Job Opening more than once the application does not allow that to occur.

If the first time the applicant applies without selecting a Job Opening and submits it, that’s works;  however if the same applicant completes an application (without a Job Opening) and saves it as a draft, but then goes back to the Application in draft status and tries to update it they receive a Message `You have already submitted an Application for Job 0, at this point the applicant is not able to submit the Application that had been saved as a draft as it already sees there is already a Saved Application without a Job Opening  0

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. External Careers Apply without a Job and Submit

  2. Apply again without a Job Save as Draft

  3. External Career sign in, go to My Careers

  4. Note the Job Application (without a Job) that has not been submitted, click on it

  5. When the Job opening comes up make changes and then submit it this time.
