Last updated on JUNE 17, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Receivables - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Under Set Up Financials/Supply Chain - Common Definitions -User Preferences - Define User Preferences - Receivable Data Entry2, 'Write Off Percent Under' and 'Write Off Percent Over' is 2 digits so the maximum allowable percentage is 99, not 100%.

We cannot write off 100% payment amount in the following scenario:

For Customer X all the items are paid and closed except one item.
Customer X can't pay the remaining amount due to some reason.
The user writes off that item as bad debt.
Now all items from customer X are closed.

After a couple of months, with a good heart, Customer X pay back the amount which they refused earlier.

How would you allocate this payment in Peoplesoft? The user creates a deposit and tries to apply as WAO against Customer X in the payment worksheet but cannot write it off as the allowable percentage is not 100%.
